Handwritten notation on front: "To My Old Pal O.T. Aspray". Handwritten notation on verso: "To My Old Pal Corp. O.T. Aspray 2nd CMR / From Corp T Moore [2nd] CMR"
Postcard likely from Corporal Thomas Moore, Service Number 116297. He was also a Corporal with 2nd CMR, and was from Nanaimo.
While photographer Joyner was active in Nanaimo from 1910 to 1922, according to the Curator at the BC Sports Hall of Fame (2017), the photo likely dates from prior to this period. "His boots, shorts, and very thin gloves have the look of the 1890s or turn of the century". The photograph is believed to originate from the 1895-1910 period, perhaps even earlier.
