Notation on verso: "Trafalgar Square / Ernie, Barney Hagar & Bus. [Leslie Underwood] / on leave in London / & Pigeons". Additional notations accompanying second copy: "London during nightly bom[b]ing raids. Great Photo by a street photographer." "This was taken on March 15, 1941 in Trafalgar Square, London. Part of Nelsons Statue in Background. Myself and two Underwood Boys feeding Pigeons. My Pigeon was bashful and stopped eating as picture was being taken. They would even sit on your shoulder and eat out of your mouth. We bought little bags of grain for them. Had a wonderful time there in London. Heard it was heavily bombed just after we left. Hope pigeons are ok. Tons of Love, Barney."
