Handwritten on verso: Ottawa Sat Sept 22nd. We are at Ottawa now after a pleasant trip across the Atlantic. We plan to leave here on Wed. night and arrive Victoria Sunday afternoon so we shall be seeing you soon, if all goes well. The weather here is hot, the trees still green, and flowers nice, so it's still summer. I wonder what it's like in Victoria after the hot dry summer. We've had a grand holiday, so shall find it quiet at Mt Douglas. Kindest regards. R. Maddock.
