Bruce Lowther Collection

Collection consists of books on British Columbia-History. Includes newspapers from Victoria, Seattle, Vancouver, and London (England) which are primarily special editions from the end of WWI and WWII, and from the City of Victoria Centennial in 1962. Other material includes audio recordings of the program "Ideas" (June 1996) re: Victoria in 1890. Includes photographs found inside some of the books.

Underwood family fonds

Fonds consists primarily of photographs relating to the Underwood family, 1920-1970. In addition to images documenting family activities and homes, fonds includes photographs taken both locally and overseas relating to the WWII service of brothers Leslie, Ernest, and Ghazi Underwood; letters written by Ernest Underwood from a POW camp; ephemera dating from the end of the war and relating to returning soldiers; and WWII news clippings. Fonds includes school year books, 1955-1985, from Royal Oak High School, Royal Oak Middle School, Claremont High School, and Mount Newton Junior High. Fonds includes scrapbook of items collected by Emily Underwood during WW2 while her husband Leslie, Sr. was overseas, newspapers and periodical issues.

Rick and Frances Blake fonds

The fonds consists of records primarily relating to Rick and Frances (nee Gibson) Blake's school years and Rick Blake's involvement in school sports teams. Schools include Mount View, Mount Newton, Colquitz, James Island, Mount Douglas, Doncaster, and Cedar Hill. The fonds includes records relating to James Island, where Frances Blake's father Frank worked for 25 years, and a 1937 Mount View High School graduation diploma for her mother, Minnie Youell.

Topics include Chinese-Canadian history, Chinatown, and D'Arcy Island. Includes correspondence, news clippings, articles, photographs, film negatives, colour slides, and posters. Fonds includes material in Chinese and English.
