Collection consists of correspondence, minutes, accounts and contracts relating to the Royal Oak War Agricultural Committee, later the Saanich Peninsula Farm Labour Committee. Collection includes four rubber stamps.

Includes records relating to such topics as budgets and finance, special events, land disposition, capital projects and engineering, by-laws, school boards and libraries, recreation and recycling.

Also included are invitations to community functions, directives to staff, and replies to residents’ letters. Records are primarily from the administrations of Stanley Murphy (1962-1964), Hugh Austin Curtis (1965-1973), Edward Fook Lui Lum (1974-1977) and Municipal Administrator William Tremayne (1973-1985). Also included are various Police Commission records from 1915 to 1984.

The Planning Files are largely text, with maps, plans (some of these hand-drawn by petitioners to the Board of Variance) and a few reports used or produced by the Planning Department. The records consist mainly of correspondence between planning staff and members of the public or developers. Typical letters addressed to the Planning Department request permission to subdivide, rezone or purchase property, or to contravene setback and height restrictions. There are also a number of petitions from local area citizens' groups protesting decisions made by the municipality, excerpts from committee minutes, decisions written by officials, and copies of pertinent by-laws.

Fonds consists of Saanich Public Works documents and includes plans, petitions, correspondence and copies of legal documents relating to such topics as subdivisions, road and sidewalk construction, sewers and drainage. Fonds includes a number of photographs relating to Public Works issues.

Fonds consists of records originating from the CCF Hall on Douglas Street and relating to the Co-operative Commonwealth Federation (local, provincial, and federal groups) and to its successive form, the New Democratic Party (NDP).
