Baran family collection

Collection consists of income and property tax documents relating to John Baran's greenhouse operation, correspondence by Eleanor Baran relating to her employment, some ephemera, and a 75th anniversary Saanich pioneer pin. Collection includes photographs relating to the 1939 royal visit and the Baran greenhouses on Carey Road. Includes photocopied photographs of the Barans’ Tillicum Service Station.

Collection consists of land conveyance documents from 1861 to 1933 for land which was owned by George Phillips, and which is currently the site of Craigflower Elementary School in Saanich (2700 block of Admirals Road). Phillips owned the land from 1900 to 1941. Previous owners of the property include the Puget Sound Agricultural Company, Thomas Russell and Robert Ker.

Fonds includes scrapbook of items collected by Emily Underwood during WW2 while her husband Leslie, Sr. was overseas, newspapers and periodical issues.
