Fonds includes letters to the Aitkens family from soldiers during the First World War.

Fonds includes a souvenir of the opening of the new BC Parliament, 1898, and a programme for the memorial service for Queen Victoria, Victoria BC, 1901.

The fonds includes glass plate and film negatives; photographs; cameras, accessories, drawing, manuals, and photography instructional books (one inscribed by Anne Girling's brothers in 1905 and the other awarded to Annie from Woolwich Polytechnic in 1907). Fonds includes a camera manual for the No. 3 Folding Pocket Kodak 1912 and a photographic print of Alice Mary Girling that was found in one of the books as a bookmark.
