Notation " This is a stallion with the name of Broadmede. The gentleman in the saddle is Jack Bothwell in front of the race horse building. Jack's sleeping quarters were in the loft to the right. It was in this building that Jack lost an eye when he was loading shot gun shells. I was sitting at the table watching with brother Wallace. my Dad harnessed his fastest horse to the buggy and off to Dr. Duncan on Fort and Douglas St. the Dr. said I have bad news for you Jack you are going to lose your eye. He replaced it with glass. Dr Duncan came out on many occasions with Jack Rithet son of RP as pheasants were very plentiful"
