Fonds consists of records relating to Kenneth Reginald Genns' political and community activities in Saanich, including community planning meeting minutes and correspondence, records of the Community Chest campaign, and copies of petition for secession of Ward 6 (now Central Saanich). Fonds includes photographs of public works projects and staff in Saanich. Fonds also includes correspondence and account books for the Cordova Bay Community Club, along with an uninterrupted run (1948-1956) of its newsletter, Spindrift.

Fonds consists of material relating to Frank Neate's work as an engineer with Saanich, 1960s to 1980s, and includes textual records, reports, plans, maps, news clippings and photographs.

Fonds consists of maps and plans relating to the architectural work of F.W. Nicolls.

The Planning Files are largely text, with maps, plans (some of these hand-drawn by petitioners to the Board of Variance) and a few reports used or produced by the Planning Department. The records consist mainly of correspondence between planning staff and members of the public or developers. Typical letters addressed to the Planning Department request permission to subdivide, rezone or purchase property, or to contravene setback and height restrictions. There are also a number of petitions from local area citizens' groups protesting decisions made by the municipality, excerpts from committee minutes, decisions written by officials, and copies of pertinent by-laws.
