Note
Stephen Sandover came to BC in 1860. He joined in the Cariboo gold rush aftter operating for a short time a blacksmith shop in Victoria. On his return he resumed the business with a man named Duck. He married Miss Mary Ann Harrison in 1871. He bought a farm in north Saanich from J. Philip which he raised cattle.The farm was located north of the Experimental Farm. Mr Sandover was the president of the Saanich Agricultural Society Saanich Fair for several years. He died in 1918. The Sandovers had no family.
