Front staircase of the Bay St. Armoury, likely 1918 or 1919. R.G.E. Leckie was the first Commanding Officer of the 16th Battalion The Canadian Scottish CEF, having been part of the original Seaforth Regiment contingent of the 16th Battalion from Vancouver. Major General Leckie was General Officer Commanding Military District 11 - British Columbia from 1917 to 1920. His brother John joined at the same time and later commanded the 16th Battalion. There are photos of the Leckie brothers in the Canadian Scottish Regiment Museum in the Bay St Armoury.
